Having a Bed of Your Own Is Still a Dream
Some families live every day under the weight of responsibilities that are far too heavy for one person to carry alone. In small homes with limited space and scarce resources, even basic comfort becomes difficult to achieve. Their story is just one example of the daily struggles faced by many families living in Armenia.
Gayane is a devoted mother who, despite the many challenges she faces, continues to do everything she can to care for her family. She lives with her two children; her 17-year-old son Aram and her 15-year-old daughter Mariam-as well as her elderly mother, who has a disability and requires round-the-clock care.
Gayane herself lives with epilepsy and mental health challenges that prevent her from working. As she shares: “My health problems are something I have to live with every day. Even when I don’t have enough strength for everything I need to do, I simply don’t have the option to stop.”
Despite her own struggles, she carries full responsibility for both her children and the daily care of her mother, carrying a burden that would be overwhelming for anyone.
The family lives in difficult conditions with very limited space. Gayane’s 15-year-old daughter, Mariam, currently shares a bed with her grandmother, while Gayane does not have a bed of her own and sleeps wherever there is space.
At an age when privacy and rest are especially important, Mariam does not have her own bed; a place where she can sleep or simply feel comfortable. At the same time, Gayane also needs proper rest. Carrying full responsibility for her family, quality sleep is not a luxury for her, but a necessity for her health and well-being.
The family urgently needs 270,000 AMD to purchase two beds-one for Mariam and one for Gayane. This is a small but meaningful step toward giving them a space of their own.
Together, we can provide them with a safer and more comfortable place to rest and help ease the burden on Gayane, who is already doing everything she can for her family.
